The Cure's 'Close To Me' is the first track to lead off Pony Face’s new EP, Bird Songs Vol 1, a collection of pop songs about escape and flight to console and connect with.
Very special heroine and long term friend Liz Stringer generously lends her voice to 'Close to Me', an unabashed admission of Simon's love of the Cure. Any resemblance between the song's obsessive lyrics about separated lovers and the outside world's lonely isolation is purely coincidental.

Pony Face are a beautiful hypnotic ride through musical space and time. All their music, including this EP is a slow sweet drip of honey from a collective consciousness of it's members. Brendan Foster
