Thank heavens she found me, the scout dog you sent

It’s quiet in the city since we heard their tanks left
sitting in the shade of the steeple on the temple steps
Well I guess I'm not going home but I'm not the least bit lonely
my best girl’s name is on my arm in chartreuse and french cursive ink
there are birds circling over head but there’s a song in the air
sounds coming from Mt De Ja Vu, think I'm gonna head out there
So I mended my broken back, I got up and walked
met a stranger on the road, I swear I met him once before
do wishes get stronger if you keep em secret?
or do they get sharper and cut you to bits?
‘Tis sweet to know that dogs will bark when with daisies we'll lie,
the commerce will continue, the sea birds will fly.
What could bring me to linger what is it i will miss the most?
we are all everyone of us smiling at ghosts.
I admit something pulls to stay, tempting not to change
but the sun sets on the mountain and it starts to rain
